Outcomes

What you will learn

  • Long-Chassis Maneuvering: Master handling the extra length of high-roof passenger vans and minibuses, ensuring rear wheels clear curbs cleanly on sharp turns.
  • Passenger Load Physics: Learn how a full cabin of 14 passengers alters the vehicle's center of gravity and affects cornering stability.
  • Smooth Transit Techniques: Practice progressive acceleration and gentle, early braking to ensure a comfortable ride and prevent passenger discomfort.
  • Blind Spot Elimination: Adapt to the restricted rear and side visibility of passenger vans by utilizing specialized mirrors and checking crucial blind spots before lane changes.
Requirements

Before you start

  • Age Limits: You must be between 22 and 65 years old. Anyone over the age of 65 is legally capped from holding an active Public Service Vehicle (PSV) class endorsement in Kenya
  • Prior Driving Experience: You must have held a valid Class B (Light Vehicle) license for at least 4 years. Alternatively, under updated guidelines, a combination of holding a Class B license for 2 years followed by holding a Class C1 (Light Truck) license for 2 years is also accepted
  • The Endorsement Date Rule: NTSA tracks your experience based on the exact digital endorsement date on your eCitizen profile, not the physical print date of an older license
